We all need more rainbow llamas.

Staircases and Martin Luther King Day.

Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. Martin Luther King, Jr. Today we observe Martin Luther King's birthday and that is one of my favorite quotes of his as my own life experiences are a testimony to its truth. I also couldn't resist showcasing some amazing staircases as an ode to that quote... Above is the well known 'La Muralla Roja' built by the amazing Ricardo Bofill.

Happy New Year everyone! Such a blessing to embrace a new year and a fresh start. I intended to pop in before the New Year, but I got caught up enjoying family time and savoring every bit of it. I am not one to make resolutions, but I am big on living your best life and embracing positivity and carving out a space that facilitates good vibes do wonders to facilitate that. Home Depot Patio Style Challenge Inspiration.

I received an invitation to participate in the Home Depot Patio Style Challenge and I am super excited! Unfortunately it has been too cold or raining to get out there and start. Nonetheless, I have been gathering inspiration and praying for warmer temps...

I would love to extend our patio for more entertaining space and I love the pavers used here.

Best Golden Globes Moment: "I Can and I Did."

This moment was undoubtedly the best moment for me while watching the Golden Globes last night. Gina Rodriguez, The Jane the Virgin star won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Comedy.  Her acceptance speech was so moving! I am so thrilled for her and I have never even watched the show! Did you watch the Golden Globes yesterday? xx

I Sewed a Burp cloth: Sewing Lesson(s) from My Neighbor

My neighbor’s beautiful daughter, Elouise thinks I did a fab job, right Elouise?

Learning how to use my sewing machine was on my to do list of things I wanted to learn this year.  I am thrilled to say

that just recently, after two lessons from my neighbor(Elouise’s Mom), I was able to correctly string my sewing machine and sew a burp cloth for little Elouise.

They aren't perfectly straight lines, but very good for my first time, right?

Later after the pins were removed, Elouise was happy to rest her chin on it as she relaxed in her Mommy’s arms. The not so perfectly straight lines didn’t seem to bother her at all. However, I will be working on making perfectly straight lines, especially since I can’t wait to sew some pillow covers! I am so excited about this new skill and I am really proud that I am able to check this off my list so early in the year. Are you working on achieving a goal that you set this year too? Do share. I believe this to be true, but then again, I am a feng shui loving kinda gal with a hippie’s heart.  I had a more picture laden post planned but my computer or rather very slow Internet is not having it.
