Art Filled and Airy in Paris

It's hard to believe that this beautiful art filled, brimming with light Parisian apartment used to be an old workshop.  Dubbed Chez Amélie and designed by the architecture and interior design firm, Batiik Studio, this transformation is a delight for the eyes. The high ceilings make the perfect backdrop for the art and those insanely beautiful gallery wall displays. The neutral palette  sprinkled with different materials make this home far from boring.

Artist Jean Jullien Adds Whimsy In The Garden

Seeing these whimsical statues by artist Jean Jullien in these gardens is an immediate mood booster.  How fun! I'd love to have that orange one above or really anyone of these would do! You can see more of this installation and learn more about this project HERE.

Say No to Bare Walls-Gallery Walls Edition

Bare walls are not safe during this quarantine season. Decorating them gives us something to do and helps to keep us sane-lol! Here are some great gallery wall ideas to inspire you to finally mount those art pieces on the wall. That orange piece in the gallery wall above is calling my name- you know I am addicted to orange!

A Gallery Wall Update

Gallery walls will never go out of style around here! I love them as they give me an opportunity to showcase the art pieces that make me happy.  I've always wanted to try a gallery wall of art going all the way down the wall and I finally did back in the Spring.

Actually once I start obsessing over an idea, it is more than likely going to happen. In this case with Cheyenne being Ms. Busy Body, I was fully prepared for this to be a short term design realization.  However,  surprisingly she has decided to let Mama be great and leave the art be:-). You might remember a table being in this version of  the foyer, I relocated it, and placed some of my favorite art pieces on the wall. I love how it turned out! xx

I Found The Perfect Art Piece for My Bedroom

Do you remember when I unveiled the bedroom refresh earlier this year? I mentioned in that post that I might have the perfect art piece for behind the bed, and it couldn't be more perfect! It's like it was custom made specifically for this room, the colors go so beautifully.  I had it framed at a steep discount at A C Moore and I love how it turned out. This is a quick iphone snap but the beauty still shines through. It's by Justina Blakeney- i love all her work! And it's available here.

a close up - so beautiful!

Better pics coming soon. xx

Quiet Elegance in Seattle

This light filled apartment in Seattle is very easy on the eyes. There is a quiet elegance about each space and it is clear that each object was meticulously placed. There is a sense of calm as one goes from room to room despite the evidence that the interior designer who lives there, Terry Hunziker is clearly a collector, there is a sense of order to how everything in each space is artfully arranged.

I think most of us are either covered in snow and freezing or if we don't have snow, we're still freezing. Yikes! Stay warm folks. xx
