Cheyenne's Room Gets A Delightful Dose of Pink Paint

Hello there friends! I'm trying to do better and post about  the projects that I've completed. This one is recent and is just a quick paint refresh, but I absolutely love it! The paint color is Benjamin Moore Pink Starburst. It picks up beautifully on the pink in the Pierre Frey wallpaper in the dormer nook of the room(see pics below). No long narrative needed as it's quite a straightforward project, so let's look at a few before pics and then delve into the after pics.

Before- these colors are also present in the Pierre Frey wallpaper and were delightful, but as you know, wall colors are dynamic around here:-).

This is after I applied in the first coat and was admiring how lovely the color went with the yellow. I toyed with the idea of just painting that one wall, but stuck to the original plan and painted the entire room.

Almost done here and Cheyenne is giving me a thumbs up! Great job Mama!;-)

And here we have some after shots. Pretty, pretty!

This dresser is one of my favorite pieces as I bought it when Zion was a baby from the now Crate and Kids. They were Land of Nod then. All 3 children have used it.  That lamp is a most recent thrift score and of course, I've mentioned that thrifted rocking chair before. And a disco ball is a must! Rug is from Suhki rugs.

One of her favorite spots in the room

The Arty Pierre Frey wallpaper that I mentioned above. I moved this couch from another room and placed it in the nook. It fits perfectly and now we have another spot to lounge. I also removed the legs.

So, what do you think of this new color? xx

13 Delightful Monochromatic Spaces That Inspire

The monochromatic look is one I've been drooling over for some time. I love the idea of drenching not only the walls, but also the trim and ceiling in the same color. It's such an impactful way to showcase a color. This mustard color  above seen in this residential project  is so yummy and it's no secret how much I've been loving yellows.  I recently dabbled in this monochromatic look when we gave our porch a makeover . I've toyed with the idea of embracing this look in other spaces, but hesitate because I change paint colors so often and it would be a pain to constantly having to repaint the ceiling. Anyway, here is a delicious roundup of some delightful monochromatic spaces to inspire you!

Do you have a favorite from this delightful round up? xx

Happy New Year!

Here's to more smiles and joy for 2023-designaddictmom
How are you? I hope you got some great rest over the holidays. As we usher in 2023, I am just truly grateful for everything. Last year, I embraced more intentional living, started learning to play the guitar, soaked up family time, we bought a few more properties(including the house next door to us-we affectionately call that one Grandma's house), I accomplished some awesome things creatively,  but I was also conscious about taking mental breaks, and shutting out the noise that is inherent to being on social media. I will continue to embrace the intentional living mindset this year and take joy in the little things. I have a number of projects that I haven't yet shared, so I am excited to share those with you. Of course, they're colorful!  Here's to more smiles, more color, more joy! xx

A LEGO Birthday Party For Cheyenne's 5th Birthday.

Colorful LEGO birthday party
It feels like just yesterday I was telling you that Cheyenne was born. And now we are celebrating her 5th birthday. Unbelievable! She is a master at LEGO building and is absolutely LEGO obsessed, so I thought it apt to incorporate some LEGO aspects into her birthday celebration.

I guess I owe being a chicken Mama for inspiring this idea. I thought of using over 100 of  these egg cartons(since in my brain the undersides mimic the look of LEGO bricks) to create a 3D wall/backdrop that look like LEGO bricks. I almost regretted this idea because it was so time consuming, but it was totally worth it. This wall was the perfect backdrop for the party. I plan on reusing the cartons for Easter craft activities and of course for egg storage.

The cake was a hit! It was made by the lovely Jenny from local Blue Pineapple Bakery O.K., get ready for picture overload. There were so many fun moments!

Awwwww

Happy, happy birthday sweet girl. You are such a blessing to all of us. 😘😘💕💕
