A LEGO Birthday Party For Cheyenne's 5th Birthday.

It feels like just yesterday I was telling you that Cheyenne was born. And now we are celebrating her 5th birthday. Unbelievable! She is a master at LEGO building and is absolutely LEGO obsessed, so I thought it apt to incorporate some LEGO aspects into her birthday celebration.

I guess I owe being a chicken Mama for inspiring this idea. I thought of using over 100 of  these egg cartons(since in my brain the undersides mimic the look of LEGO bricks) to create a 3D wall/backdrop that look like LEGO bricks. I almost regretted this idea because it was so time consuming, but it was totally worth it. This wall was the perfect backdrop for the party. I plan on reusing the cartons for Easter craft activities and of course for egg storage. 

The cake was a hit! It was made by the lovely Jenny from local Blue Pineapple Bakery O.K., get ready for picture overload. There were so many fun moments!

Weekend Recap- Birthday Shenanigans

I feel like it was just yesterday that I was telling you about the birth of Cheyenne and now here I am telling you she turned 1. It sounds cliche but the time flew by so quickly! There are really no words adequate enough to describe the joy she has brought into our lives. She is truly remarkable and we love her so much!

Many of you know she's a rainbow baby,  and her personality is as colorful as the rainbow, thus the idea of a rainbow party to celebrate her was born. Here are a couple pics...

The rainbow cake was made locally by Sweet Boutique Bakery. I've used them here and here to celebrate Zion and Ian's first birthday parties. They are amazing!  I ordered the rainbow print as e file from Tess Guinery, then had it printed and mounted at a local Fedex store.

I also celebrated my birthday this weekend:-). It was a very special time for all of us. xx

Highlights From Zion's Roblox Birthday Party

Zion turned 8 years old on Saturday-can you believe it? It feels like we just celebrated his 5th birthday! Anyway, he wanted a Roblox birthday party and I panicked briefly because I am not well versed in Roblox and I could hardly find anything Roblox related to buy for the party.  I spent days researching and talking to the boys to learn more about Roblox...

Upon researching, I learned about how the Roblox characters changed their skin color and like the image shows above, the different colors are represented in a grid and then I got the idea to replicate it as a backdrop for Zion's birthday party.  I love getting creative with backdrops and this Minecraft one I did for Zion last year is a fave!

And over 500 post its later, we have a Roblox backdrop, our own skin color changing grid. I have to be honest though,  it took a looong time and I kept asking myself why I didn't choose something less time consuming.

But it was totally worth it! Zion loved it!

Thank goodness for Etsy! I was able to customize this invitation bought here and Z was excited to give them to his friends!

The hubs drew a Roblox character on this mini chalkaboard and I made a garland from foam, added some mini Roblox peeps and decorative honeycomb Lanterns and the mantel was ready for the party!

Etsy was a life saver in helping me to incorporate Roblox graphics. I bought these graphics from this etsy store as a pdf file, then printed them at home on adhesive paper. 

The balloons were a hit! I bought packages of balloons from the Dollar Store and each came with different shaped and sized balloons.

I printed these Roblox graphics (bought from Etsy store mentioned above) on cardstock paper, punched a hole in each, then tied each to a favor bag and voila! xx

Zion’s Color Me Happy 5th Birthday Party

We recently celebrated Zion’s 5th birthday and even mother nature gifted us with a present of the most perfect day. Besides Zion turning 5, there are so many other things about him and how much he has accomplished that also merited being celebrated. A colourful theme seemed very fitting plus that meant I didn’t really have to purchase much since I already had lots of colourful party items.  This post may be a bit long so I apologize in advance; lots of pictures!

I was inspired by a cake I saw online

I made Z’s initial from these look alike light bulbs I scored at AC Moore. They are still mounted on the wall…

I purchased coloured cups from the Dollar Store and made a back drop for a photo booth. It was time consuming, but so worth it! Everyone loved it too!

Little Ian’s bookcase was used to display the food. It was perfect for the colourful theme.

In addition to a bounce house, there was a balloon maker who also doubled as a face painter.

Each child received a rainbow colored magic spring.

These balloons were an easy way to add festive cheer to the front of the house. They were kept in place by golf tees.

A number 5 wreath was the perfect addition to the front door. It even lights up!  Though, I have many more pictures, I think I should probably stop here with the pictures. The party was really fun and I am thrilled I enlisted the services of photographer, Patty of Patty K Photography. She did a superb job capturing it all. xx
