Going Bold with Color in Madrid

I get butterflies for interiors with a bold take on color. This home in Madrid, belonging to designer, Luis García Fraile has me drooling. Such unabashed use of color and I absolutely LOVE every bit of it! The furniture pieces are just as delicious and evoke a come hither aura and bespoke like qualities.

Recovering from Hurricane Florence

You've probably heard about the devastating hurricane Florence that hit North Carolina over the weekend. We were right in its path and are grateful we didn't experience any damage. However, that is not the case for many and although the hurricane has passed, many are still in shelters waiting to go home, roads/schools are closed, areas are still flooded, and even more devastating are the lives that have been claimed. 

We are so grateful that all we have to do is clean up debris from our yard and my thoughts and prayers are with those who were less fortunate.  Here is a great article on NPR that outlines how we can help those recovering from Hurricane Florence. xx

September is Here But It's Still Hot

It's September but it still feels very much like Summer here in North Carolina. It is HOT!! I'm a Summer loving girl but I am actually looking forward to the cool down that comes with Fall.  xx

Add Color to Your Side Table for Spring With Painted Pampas Grass

I have big shrubs of pampas grass with white plumes in the front of our yard and those things grow out of control! We have to prune them to control their growth and I sometimes cut them and place in vases. They make such stately and elegant centerpieces.

Recently, I had the idea while sprucing up the guest room to cut some of our pampas grass, spray paint them, and place them on the side table in a vase.

I always have spray paint on hand for an impromptu project...

I let the pampas grass completely dry and air out for at least a day before placing it on the side table.

Such a fun and easy way to add color to a room! xx

Pink and Blue Reign in The Beautiful Home of Amelia Widell

I spotted this space on Pinterest and was drooling so much that I followed the link which led me to the home tour on Gravity Home. I just had to share a peek here too. Amelia's home is featured in the current issue of Elle Decoration (Sweden). Amelia, a blogger, an interior designer, and owner of the store Melimeli seems to really love the colors, pink and blue. They are showcased throughout her beautiful home and is very evident with that pink sofa in the living room(which is also one of her designs). I am loving all the plants too-in fact, I love everything!!
