Bohemian style, often called "boho" or "boho chic," embraces an easy going appeal where there is lots of organic and natural pieces,  lots of layering, earthy colors and patterns. The style was popularized during the 1960s and 1970s, but its roots trace back much further, so there's a large history to look at for inspiration. These Bedrooms are Dripping With Cozy

The brutally cold nature of this Winter has definitely left me digging deep into my cozy bag of tricks-think plants, soft blankets, ambient lighting via candles and twinkly lights. Though during the day time that morning light does wonders to lift the spirit, especially if accompanied by the sun! These bedrooms are definitely dripping with that cozy factor and I would have a hard time getting out of them...

Add Color to Your Side Table for Spring With Painted Pampas Grass

I have big shrubs of pampas grass with white plumes in the front of our yard and those things grow out of control! We have to prune them to control their growth and I sometimes cut them and place in vases. They make such stately and elegant centerpieces.

Recently, I had the idea while sprucing up the guest room to cut some of our pampas grass, spray paint them, and place them on the side table in a vase.

I always have spray paint on hand for an impromptu project...

I let the pampas grass completely dry and air out for at least a day before placing it on the side table.

Such a fun and easy way to add color to a room! xx

It's no secret that I am a color lover and that my bedroom is quite the opposite of these Scandinavian bedrooms that I am about to feature. However, while Scandinavian designs tend not to incorporate much color, they are big on layering, and adding textures with their accessories. Now those similarities are also present in my own bedroom and other designs and they are the reason I find Scandinavian design so appealing. Though neutral, the design is not cold. With some of us engulfed in snow and some of us experiencing unusually cold temperatures, staying in bed a little longer this weekend is a great idea! The weather can't seem to make up its mind- one day it's nice and warm and the next it's snowing or very cold...
