Pantone's Colors of The Year In My Bathroom

Bathroom with yellow door and grey marble tiles(Pantone's 2021 Color Choices)

Each year when Pantone announces their Color of The Year, I always jokingly say, "I bet I have that color in our home!" and usually I do! You know how much I have been crushing on yellow. Just take a look HERE, HERE, and HERE.  SO, it should be no surprise that yellow is sprinkled throughout our home. Our Master bathroom is definitely representing Pantone's 2021 Color Choices(yellow and grey). The walls are white but the marble tiles have grey and of course, you can't miss those yellow doors! You can check out the full renovation from last year's One Room Challenge. What do you think about Pantone's choices this year? xx

A Bedroom Update with Pantone's Color of the Year 2019

A Bedroom Update with Pantone's Color of the Year 2019- design addict mom
It's no secret that color excites me and though it may seem that I am always redoing our bedroom, the green version has actually been in place for awhile(well, maybe not that long). Anyway, toward the end of last year, i felt it was time for a change and I kept leaning toward a shade in the pink family. However, last month while shopping for new bedding, that rust/coral bedding caught my eye and it felt so right once i brought it home and placed it on the bed. It really made me happy and so, the idea to paint the room a similar shade was born and of course, the color just so happens to be similar to Pantone's color of the year; living coral

I chose Benjamin Moore Coral Gables and it is the most delicious color in this space. I didn't change much of anything else in here and it made the existing pieces/accessories look brand new.

It's the perfect backdrop for the plants too-so lovely!

A little glimpse into the bathroom. I was fully prepared to repaint the pink adjoining doors in case they didn't work with the color, but I like the contrast pop and will leave it(at least for now)

Most of the art is leaning in here because I can't bring myself to place anything on the walls. However,  I recently acquired what I think is the most perfect piece for behind the bed and keeping fingers crossed that command strips will be able to hold it in place. I'll show once it's in place.  This coral color is truly a delight and I think I'll be keeping it around for a bit:-). Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm. xx

Cover Story: More Greenery

A beautiful collection of plants and colorful artwork pop against wall color
This shot of my home captured by the lovely Lea Hartman was on the cover of yesterday's Sunday Life of the Fayetteville Observer. I shared my thoughts on Pantone's Greenery and if you have time you can read about it here. xx

I Could've Predicted Pantone's Color of the Year; Greenery.

Loving that green wall! Tori Tori Restaurant/ Rojkind Arquitectos + ESRAWE Studio. Photo by Paúl Rivera.

If you look around my home, you'll immediately notice different variations of one color-GREEN. It's sprinkled in some way in each room of our home, so when Pantone announced greenery as their color for 2017, i was like-i could've predicted that! I mean orange is my favorite color, but of late, i feel like i have been cheating on orange with green... Wait, i know you're wondering about this green wall above. How fab is that? Spotted on Archdaily, it's actually in a restaurant called Tori Tori Restaurant and was designed by Rojkind Arquitectos + ESRAWE Studio. Photo is by Paúl Rivera. I love how the green pops against the reclaim type wood. Now let's look at moments of greenery in my own home...

Pantone's Colours of 2016.

 photographer Mikkel Mortensen

Yes, you read that correctly; colour choices! Pantone for the first time ever chose two colors as their color of the year;the blending of two harmonious shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity. It is no secret that I have a crush on pink and blue is right up there on the continuum of colors i adore. I have to say i am thrilled with this year's choice and this post will showcase my enthusiasm. We'll look at examples of the two together and examples of rose quartz and serenity taking center stage separately.

These colour choices also exist cohesively with other colours. Are you as excited as I am about Pantone's colour choices of 2016?

Baby Ian’s DIY Bookcase: Pantone Emerald Green Style…

DSC_0012
Purchased for $20 at the thrift store, this book case was a sweet deal… Last weekend (with the perfect weather and all), I  was busy working my diy magic on this beauty. I lightly sanded, primed and painted it in this Sherwin Williams Julep colour.  I think the colour echoes Pantone Emerald (colour of the year)… I also love how it pops against the colour of the wall in Baby Ian’s nursery.

It even looks beautiful in the before picture and it was in great shape. When I first saw it, I immediately fell in love with the dental details at the top too.

I still have plenty of space to fill in this bookcase and that’s not too difficult to do with a baby. They have plenty of “stuff!” What are your plans for the weekend? Any projects planned? Have a lovely one my friends and stay warm! XX

Grooving into Monday with Tangerine Tango!

Have you heard? Pantone’s colour choice for 2012 is called Tangerine Tango. Since I am obsessed with all variations of the colour orange, I am not complaining. Orange will always be an "in" colour for me! Yeah baby!:-) Have a groovy Monday everyone! XX
