Happy New Year!

How are you? I hope you got some great rest over the holidays. As we usher in 2023, I am just truly grateful for everything. Last year, I embraced more intentional living, started learning to play the guitar, soaked up family time, we bought a few more properties(including the house next door to us-we affectionately call that one Grandma's house), I accomplished some awesome things creatively,  but I was also conscious about taking mental breaks, and shutting out the noise that is inherent to being on social media. I will continue to embrace the intentional living mindset this year and take joy in the little things. I have a number of projects that I haven't yet shared, so I am excited to share those with you. Of course, they're colorful!  Here's to more smiles, more color, more joy! xx

     I am hoping to get back to normal blogging schedule this week, but currently soaking up invaluable family time with my Mom. xx

Yellow Ochre is The It Color Of The Summer

This post might be inspired by the respite from numerous days of rain that we've been having here in the Carolinas. Today the sun is shining beautifully! Yellow ochre was my "it" color for Fall and it is still holding first place for Summer. It doesn't seem like I am the only one in love with this color as I've been seeing it everywhere; especially in the fashion and interior design industries. {image via}

A Stylish and Romantic Valentine's Day Dinner At Home Using Mostly Thrifted Pieces

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I prefer a low key celebration at home as it's usually so overcrowded at the restaurants, plus it can also be a pain to find a babysitter. Do you love to thrift? I sure do and almost everything featured on the tablescape for this romantic dinner I styled is thrifted.

The table and chairs, the lace fabric pieces I draped over the table, the brass candlesticks, the cups with 'you' 'me,' the vase, the glassware, and a few of the utensils are all thrifted. Yep! But look how stylish they are. These were thrifted over time and I pulled from my thrifted stash to use for this romantic dinner.

I bought these pink and red garlands from Target in that area where you can buy things for a dollar etc. These were 3 dollars I believe. I had the idea to drape them over a few of Glory the Fig(my fiddle leaf fig) limbs and love how it turned out.

And there you have it, stylish doesn't have to be expensive. Also here are some tips for having a romantic dinner at home if you decide to celebrate Valentine's Day at home this year. xx
