Not your typical Victorian Home.

Victorian
Nestled in Ridgefield Connecticut, and designed by the talented Lynne Scalo this Victorian home is not your ordinary Victorian home. It has a modern edge with some sprinkling of whimsy. Designer Lynne Scalo mixes furniture and accessories from different genres to create unexpected touches that are not typical of a Victorian décor/aesthetic.
“I like to take elements of all periods of furniture to create a sense of today,” says Scalo. I think it’s possible to have a sense of humor and still have a sense of elegance.”

Have you been drooling over all the lighting so far? In the kitchen above the island hangs a  glamarous Philippe Starck(the Cicatrice de Luxe) chandelier. Love it! What a charming kitchen too!

Good morning beautiful one! NOW THIS IS MY KIND OF VICTORIAN! I am not typically drawn to them, but that inside IS STUNNING and that ROUND chandelier, encrusted in gems and then that dining room......oh my goodness, some designers go over the edge only to land on their feet with success. This is a real find dearest! I HOPE YOU ARE MAKING IT THROUGH SCHOOL! I am.....counting down the weeks. Seven, to be exact!!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY, Anita

FABULOUS!! Lynne Scalo is a local design favorite - and this house is a great example also of a successful restoration. DCA Architects worked with the Historic District Commission to retain the historic character of the house. Loved that Scalo then took the interiors in a more modern direction.

Oh my goodness! I've never seen a house where I wished I could move right in. The only thing that would make my dreams of living in this house better is if it had a wonderful garden....bet it does. It's all so homey. Loooove it.

I SO did not expect that interior after looking at the exterior shot first. She does have a sense of humour, and certainly one of adventure too!

Love the pink wallpaper and the white console in the entry way particularly. It could be sickly sweet, but it's not, and it just works.

Fun find!
