Devastation in NC.
I have to say that I am extremely lucky to have only suffered a minor inconvenience of no electricity for a couple hours from this devastating storm. A number of my fellow North Carolinians have lost so much. Roads, schools and a number of businesses are closed today. Please pray for all affected. I know there are a number of you who are also from North Carolina, and I would love to know if all is well with you. Once more, another grim reminder of just how fleeting life is and why it shouldn’t be taken for granted. XX

Keeping them in my prayers..couldn't believe when I read and heard about the devastation. Unreal. Our weather has gotten so crazy...I think they said at one point there were like 92 tornados or something around that number touching down at various places. So glad you were safe and sound but my heart and prayers go out to those who were not so lucky and to their families.
Oh Stacey, I know! My husband is traveling and he called home to see if we were alright. We didn't get much at all but nice heavy rain. I was shocked when I turned on the T.V. I am glad my fellow NC girl is a-okay. Hugs to you!! Love, Kel

Having grown up in Oklahoma, I know ALL about how devastating tornadoes and storms can be. :[ I'm glad you guys are alright!

I'm working with Joni to prepare some sort of fund raising effort for those who were affected. We suffered no damage at our home but it was quite scary. Glad you're okay.

So glad you're ok! We've been getting them around here a lot lately too. Luckily no damage in my immediate area yet, other than trees down and such. Let's hope storm season is almost over!

Yes, it is surreal to drive around parts of the base (Camp Lejeune) and see such devastation. The tornado touched down in base housing and completely destroyed houses, cars and a school. It's just crazy.
So sorry to hear about these devistating storms. Praying for everyone and so happy to hear you're ok. xo

Thinking of you and so relieved to hear you are okay. Tornadoes are the scariest things...lived through one in my teens that I'll never forget. Hang in there and good luck w/teaching, too.

I couldnt believe there were 250 storms in about 5 different states. I didnt know you were from NC...I actually thought you lived overseas for some reason. But Im glad you and your family are okay. Its crazy to think how much damage there is and lives lost.

Oh sweet one, I know this type of scenario. Here in Minneapolis, we have severe weather at this time of year. About 4 years ago, our neighbor's tree fell on our dining room! Thank God, no one was hurt, but yes, life is fleeting and any turn can change life. I pray that all of you stay well and safe. Bises, Anita
We had lots of rain and wind in the Piedmont and our daughter in the Eastern part of NC, but no real disasters in our towns...so happy you are all okay.
oh dear stacey! i am so glad you are ok, i can't believe all these storms in april. definitely thinking safe thoughts for your side of the states.
My parents actually had a tornado go right through their neighborhood in January! They are still fixing the damage to their house. I was in complete and utter amazement when they called and told me about it. Seriously stunned. You never think these things could happen to you or anybody you know, right?!

Having lived in Charlotte for 5 years, where both my boys were born.....I am especially touched by this terrible storm and the toll it is taking on the genteel state of NC.

My mom filled me in and I couldn't believe it. Glad you are ok. I heard some areas were hit pretty hard.
My first thought was that your brand new home had been damaged. I'm happy your family and your home remain unscathed. To lose everything is unimaginable. My heart aches for all.

Having grown up in Kansas, I know how everyone in NC feels right about now. I was in a tornado when I was 8 that demolished everything around us, leaving us fully intact inside a home with no basement. I feel so fortunate to have survived such a tragic storm when so many others didn't. 8 years later, another tornado came through that same path, this time wiping everything clean, including my grandparent's house! It's not easy to start over like that but it sure pulls a community together.
