A Pop of colour.

contrasts1
I love the edge or movement that a pop of contrasting or unexpected colour adds to a space. This pop of colour could take shape in the form of a  piece of furniture, art, accessory, a structural element, or some flowers. Really, the options are limitless regarding what you can use to create a lively pop:-). These spaces are great examples of “colour pop” in a space. Does that term even exist? I might have just coined a new design term, or not:-). Anyway, enjoy!

Color really does it!
Love the Warhol posters of Marilyn( have one of my own in pink).
The picture of the bedroom with dark wall and ceiling and the beautiful painting of a geisha(?) is amazing. It really got me!
Also lots of modern classics, always enjoyable!

The last one is the bomb, Stacey. What a dramatic kitchen and those yellow drapes with a ceiling that seems to go on forever, has me chomping at the bit. That was a great pick.

Thanks for the comment! I must say, as is probably expected that I'm loving all the lighting fixtures in these photos, especially the light-up pig? in the first photo. So effortlessly cool. I want one.

LOVE the colour-pop!! I noticed the term in some makeup ads, but it's so perfect - and even more dramatic - for an actual living space!

I like only a few pops of color. Too much color in a room and I can't relax. My daughter would faint if she saw that book wall in the first room, she adores books. I like that penguin statue very much.

There's a little something for you over at my blog my dear.

this is awesome! it's the kind of restraint i have yet to find in decorating. it makes such an impact. i've GOT to learn how to accomplish this, even in my own weird little way. :P

where did you live in italy?? i did a summer semester in northern italy, but i've been to the country about 5 other times. i can understand how you'd miss it. :)

These are lovely! There are so many great spaces here -- I think that the first and second are my most favorite of all... and especially the first. The grey and brights is fantastic! I love the coffee table so much. A lot of people believe that too much color gets tired after a short while, but I disagree -- move a vase around and combine it with something else, and you have a whole new look.

Thanks for the inspiration!

i NEED bookshelves like that that go around doorways. its really fun and perfect for storing my bajilion number of books!

it was love at first sight for that staircase and me. perhaps a different color, maybe less bright, and i would be overjoyed to have that in my future house

And i think those floor lenght curtains are the perfect pop to the room, and what made me love them, was the height of the celling and how the curtains are so high up. love that.
