One up, many more to go!

IMG_8758
(view of a part of the foyer looking into the dining room)

That’s the light I chose for the foyer. There are also recessed lights that flank both sides of the fixture. Although I chose lighting for most of the rooms, there are at least four still without lighting-decisions, decisions…

I haven’t been able to get this Marjorie Skouras designed Empire chandelier(available in an array of colours) out of mind! But, alas,  at over $6,000, it is way out of my budget!

It’s so gorgeous in turquoise too! Happy Wednesday everyone! XX

STACY! WOW....woman, you and I are in the same process right now! I came home yesterday to see that the electrician put up the recessed lights on the vaulted ceiling and also put up my husband's chandy in his office....we are ready to move into his office this weekend, then the following weekend, the final move. OH, your home, YOUR HOME IS GOING TO BE PERFECTLY YOU! I cannot wait. Are you gonna have a blogger house warming??????? I MUST HAVE A LITTLE PARTY FOR YOU! BLESSINGS, Anita

There are many wire ones that you may be able to bead. Just a thought. I couldn't do it but I love the images.

that chandelier is to die for ...but i love what you opted for as well. i think a home should look like a home and those glam, touch me not objects are better left to be seen and admired in mags :)

Oh Stacey your home is turning out so well and love your choice of lantern in the foyer. Seems I've seen a lot of reproduction beaded chandeliers like the one you want for around a thousand, would that work? I can't wait to see more of your new home, you must be so excited!

Hello dear Stacey!
I love that little sneak peak from your new home, it looks so beautiful and I love the grande moldings!!!
The lamp in the hallway looks great as well and I´m sure you´ll find a great piece for every room.
It couldn´t be that hard to make one of those fabolous lamps you are showing, on your own, could it!? Might just be your next DIY-project:) I´m pretty sure you would succeed!
Happy wednesday!

HI Stacey, thought I would mention...we're carrying a similar version on our upcoming design site for a 5th of the price in turquoise...I've been obsessing over Marjorie Skouras too, and needed to find a much better price point...

Perhaps it has been said already, but I have seen a few DIYs of this chandelier in blogland. Perhaps you can try it out. I am sure the cost is very very minimal.
