Zappos: More than Shoes Ad...In the Nude

According to the NYT,  Zappos' fall ad campaign features models performing tasks such as riding a scooter, jogging and hailing a cab in the nude.

The web is already abuzz with this ad that has become quite a bit of a controversy. The ads will begin running in the August issues of magazines like Lucky, InStyle, Cosmopolitan, and Harper's Bazaar. What do you think? Going too far or not? XX

  1. I think they're cheeky and fun- definitely not going to far- the models are mostly covered up by the slogan.

  2. Can't say I love them but they are covered up and it catches your eye. I think they are better than some of the jean and perfum ads that have girls taking of guys clothes. I'm glad I'm no longer raising a teenager :)

  4. i think the human body is beautiful - so it doesn';t bother me at all - i think it's great - Americans are VERY uptight when it comes to sex and nudity - i see no shame in any of it

  5. Ha ha! See the guy staring getting into the car?! You couldn't pay me enough to pose for an ad butt naked in the middle of a city!! Too funny. xo

  8. I think it's all in good humor.. besides, sometimes I see people on award shows & such wearing things that cover just as much as these censors do! haha

  9. hmmmm... I am no prude, and I get their point, but somehow I don't love them. They are eye-catching though, I'll give them that much ;-)

  14. I think they're kind of cheap and overly gimmicky. The concept of 'shocking nudity' is so old and tired at this point, it's no longer all that shocking, is it?

  15. OMG so crazy but kind of interesting...definitely caught my attention!

  16. It's not the norm, and to me, that's good. On the other hand, I just don't find them that interesting. I DO love Zappos though!! :-)

  17. Love it! They are very tastefully done, so not going too far in my book. But I bet the men in the street enjoyed watching the shoot, judging by the look on this man's face!

The black girl's back is so defined and toned. Warmly hope you are well. Back to blogland after a short break. xx

  19. I don't think it's too far at all. Its no different than other designer perfume ads that sho makes models. I think its a cute attention getter to make it known that they sell clothes to.

  20. Hi Stacey,

I agree with most folks. I think the ads are cheeky and fun. They are not at all lewd or sexual. They just show the human body....we all have what those girls have. I'm not at all bothered by the ads.
